Students will take the Total Ankle Replacement Treatments Pre-test before beginning the course to test their current knowledge.
1. Anatomy:

In this lesson, we will learn about the specific anatomical landmarks for total ankle replacement which include: boney anatomy, soft tissues, and other critical structures like nerves and blood supply.

2. Deformity:
Duration: 00:08:51

In this lesson you will learn about different types of ankle deformity that occur with end stage ankle arthritis; review area of where Deformity can be located; identify the difference in deformities; and give an overview of the adjunct procedures that may be needed.

3. Arthritis:
Duration: 00:06:12

In this lesson you will review the different types of arthritis that affect the ankle joint and when a Total Ankle Replacement would be considered.

4. Total Ankle Replacement Traditional Alignment Guide:
Duration: 00:19:01

In this lesson, we will discuss the basic objectives for a total ankle replacement technique using a traditional alignment guide including general set-up and instrumentation, procedure specific anatomic landmarks, procedure goals and desired outcome, steps for the tibial alignment guide and general post-op protocol.

5. Total Ankle Replacement Kinematics:

In this lesson, you will review the ankle anatomy and joint motion that involve ankle kinematics. We will review what causes abnormal ankle motion, terminology specific to total ankle replacement, and how kinematics impacts a  surgeons decision when choosing total ankle replacement as a treatment option.
