Curriculum
Students will take The Basics Pre-Test before beginning The Basics course to test their current knowledge.
In this lesson you will learn about biomechanics and how they pertain to the foot and ankle. Including learning about the support structures of the foot, locomotion, and muscle and joint function. This lesson will review how these biomechanical principles apply to common foot and ankle problems.
In this lesson you will learn about the basic principles of bone healing, including bone healing basics, natural bone healing, osteosynthesis, the history of modern bone healing, modern bone healing concepts and techniques, the concept of absolute vs. relative stability, and an introduction to compression.
In this lesson you will learn about the types of devices used for bone healing, the concept of compression, and basic implant techniques.
Students will take The Basics Final after completing the course lessons to see how their knowledge has improved.
